IOCE Annual Meeting October 2005
Please take note that the IOCE will be holding its Annual
Meeting on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sheraton
Centre Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The IOCE Annual Meeting is held in conjunction with the
Canadian Evaluation Society/American Evaluation Association Conference
2005. Refer to http://c2005.evaluationcanada.ca for information on the "Crossing
Borders, Crossing Boundaries" Conference.
The IOCE Annual Meeting is open to all representatives
of professional evaluation associations, societies or networks and institutional
organizations, as well as supporters, observers and non-voting
IOCE members. Your presence and participation at this inaugural Annual Meeting of the IOCE
will contribute to the success of the organisation.
The IOCE provides a platform for worldwide cooperation
and partnership in evaluation, fostering the cross fertilisation of ideas,
high professional standards and an open and global perspective among evaluators. The mission of the IOCE is:
"To help legitimate evaluation and support evaluation
societies, associations and networks so that they can better contribute
to good governance, effective decision making and strengthen the role of civil society."
The Annual Meeting provides an opportunity to debate and
discuss international evaluation issues. A number of priority themes
have been identified which we believe are of shared interest
among evaluators internationally and where IOCE can help shape a new consensus. These themes
all centre on diversity and cultural difference. They include:
- Cultural diversity in the theory and practice of evaluation
- Evaluation in specific cultural contexts
- Evaluation, social justice and human rights
- Cultural competencies for evaluators
Participate in the IOCE Annual Meeting to share your views
and experiences with your international colleagues.
