Zenda is an evaluation specialist and Executive Director of Evalnet, an evaluation consultancy company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Over the past 13 years she has been working towards realising her vision of ensuring that monitoring and evaluation are useful instruments for development in Africa and in other developing countries.

Zenda has done programme, organisational and policy evaluation in many fields including poverty alleviation, rural development, ICTs, education, research capacity development, conservation and sustainable development, natural resource management and HIV/Aids. During her past four years as full-time evaluator she has worked on, or coordinated, evaluation projects conducted in 17 countries in Africa, as well as in several countries in Central America, Europe and South Asia. Zenda is currently the Chairperson of the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA), Vice President of the International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE), Convenor of the South African Evaluation Network (SAENet), and Co-Chairperson of the International and Cross-cultural Topical Interest Group (ICCE-TIG) of the American Evaluation Association (AEA). Previously, as senior manager in the public and academic sectors in South Africa, Zenda was responsible for conceptualising and implementing numerous policy and strategic initiatives, designing organisational systems, managing multi-cultural teams and establishing national and international multi-sector partnerships and networks.
