Project: UNDP-GEF Lesotho Renewable Energy Based Rural Electrification (LREBRE)

The Department of Energy within the Ministry of Natural Resources of Lesotho, in collaboration with UNDP is implementing a Project called ‘Lesotho Renewable Energy Based Rural Electrification (LREBRE)’. The primary objective of LREBRE is to put in place a commercial infrastructure for PV delivery all over Lesotho.

For such project, a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist is required. Under the direct supervision of the Country Office’s GEF Unit Manager, the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will lead, supervise and coordinate the delivery support activities of the project.

The status of the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be UN Volunteer. If someone is interested s/he could send the CV to jose.pedrosa@undp.org.


Project: GEF Bi-National International Waters Project (FREPLATA) Final Evaluation

Final Evaluation – GEF bi-national International Waters project, “Environmental Protection of the Rio de la Plata and its Maritime Front: Pollution Prevention and Control, and Habitat Restoration. FREPLATA”

Candidates are sought for a two-member evaluation team that would undertake the final evaluation of the GEF regional project, “Environmental Protection of the Rio de la Plata and its Maritime Front: Pollution Prevention and Control, and Habitat Restoration. FREPLATA”, carried out in Uruguay and Argentina.  The project has followed the GEF IW methodology and developed both a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) as well as a Strategic Action Programme (SAP). The evaluation would take place in June and entails a mission to both Uruguay and Argentina. Candidates should have experience in project evaluation and monitoring, expertise in management of natural resources, and in particular water resources.  Fluency in Spanish is a requirement.


Project: Poverty Reduction, Energy in Rural Area and Gender Mid-Term Evaluation

UNDP Burkina Faso is planning a mid-term evaluation of an important program. This program deals with poverty reduction, energy in rural area and gender issue. Its evaluation is supposed to start as soon as possible

The two national consultants will be provided directly by the government.


Project: UNDP-GEF “Energy Efficiency in Small-scale Steel Re-rolling Sector”

UNDP-India is implementing a GEF project, “Energy Efficiency in Small-scale Steel Re-Rolling Sector”. The project was initiated in 2004 and is expected to complete in 2009. We would like to initiate a mid-term evaluation to assess the effectiveness and relevance of the initiative to identify future direction of the project.

In this connection, we seek interest from individuals to undertake this mid-term evaluation. The evaluation is scheduled to take place in June-July 2007 and will involve travel in India.  Please feel free to circulate this email in other groups and networks. Please send us CVs by 31st May 2007.
